I was waiting for PJ to get home so I could stuff shrimp tacos into my face.
When he arrived, he said, “Holy shit. Trump was just at a rally and got shot at!”
We put on Fox News to see what they were saying.
Of course, because we don’t believe anything Trump says or does, we were speculating about what really happened.
After watching the replay a bunch of times, my conclusion was:
At first he thought he was stung by a bee and went to smack it away. Then he saw the blood and the secret service coming for him and got down on the ground. When they tried to get him off the stage, you heard him say, “Let me get my shoes.” because they came off his feet and he didn’t want anyone to see the lifts, or him walking away from the scene an inch shorter in his stocking feet.
As many of you know, I am not a Trump supporter.
I do have to say though – getting to your feet at 78 years old with blood all over your face right after getting shot and pumping your fist and yelling “FIGHT!” is pretty badass. That picture of him will definitely go down in history.
However… I still don’t want him to be President.
Just like I wasn’t a fan of George W. as President, there’s absolutely no denying that I’d pay good money to hang out with him at a bar or a Paint & Sip night.
I really don’t want Trump to be President again. It’s that whole Russia thing and you know, the stacking of the court with conservative judges who are not just infringing, but overturning my rights as a woman… among other things.
I do recognize that those things (unbelievably and incredibly) don’t matter to some, and their interests are elsewhere; Trump must appeal to those interests and that’s why they want him in office.
But since this horrible event took place, (Yes, I said horrible and I mean it. To paraphrase President Biden – there is no place for this kind of violence in our great country… not even for people I don’t like.) I’ve been seeing an uptick in people saying that Trump LOVES us and is fighting for us.
THAT scares the shit out of me.
If you say he’s convinced you that he’s going to put more money in your pocket or fight to help the working man, I’d understand your stance, (It’s not true and I’d like to hear examples of how he did this in his last term.) but “He LOVES us”?
Guys. Come on. That’s cult-speak. What are you thinking? Why do you think he loves you?? The man doesn’t even show love or respect for the mothers of all his children, why do you think he has this benevolent love for you??
As Cher told Nicky Cage as she slapped him across the face in the movie Moonstruck, “SNAP OUT OF IT!”
I don’t believe violence is the answer for anything, but some of you need a slap to the side of your heads to get you thinking straight! Seriously.
