Outspoken.

Someone called me outspoken yesterday.

He meant it as an insult but I obviously took it as a compliment.

I’m picturing some of my heroes: Eleanor Roosevelt, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Hedy Lamar, Joan Didion, and Betty White ♥️, watching from Heaven and cheering me on.

On Earth I imagine women I admire most: Gayle King, Kathleen Hanna, Taylor Swift, Robin Quivers, my Momma – giving me high-fives and telling me to keep it up.

I want to be a good role model for my boys now and when it’s time for them to choose a partner. Outspokenness is a part of that.

The last thing I want for them is to end up with someone who bows to everything they say and never challenges them.

Who the hell wants a wilting flower that never expresses their opinion?

Well I guess the guy who called me outspoken prefers that. Ugh … what does that say about him? What does that say about his poor wife?

Outspoken? I’m actually practicing a lot of restraint right now.
