Facebook wars.

I try not to get into Facebook wars. It’s really silly; grown men and women getting all fired up while not even being face-to-face with the person they’re fighting with, tapping angrily away on their phones or keyboards and hitting send. Then sitting, angrily waiting, watching the “… … …” and anticipating the response.

But unfortunately, when something happens that I feel very passionately about, I find myself being one of the angry tappers.

Things I feel passionately about definitely span the spectrum in regard to importance. In fact, the only times I can recall getting into a heated Facebook debate was:

1. Over the dog waste station that was placed in front of my house, and

2. Being asked to blindly believe women when saying they’ve been sexually assaulted.

I’d say that spans the importance spectrum, wouldn’t you?

I’ve been vocal enough about the dog waste station and I’m hoping that chapter of my life has come to a close 🤞, but #2 is a battle that will quite possibly rear it’s ugly head again and again.

The debate came after Kobe Bryant died and a friend of mine posted something like: “What about the victim that Kobe Bryant raped? Who’s feeling sorry for her?” The post has since been deleted so I can’t go back and repeat exactly what was written, but I got into it with a woman who was claiming that you always need to believe the alleged victim no matter what.

My response to her was, “I’m sorry but I will never believe anyone ‘no matter what’ because it’s a fact that women have been caught lying and have destroyed the lives of innocent men even after they’ve been proven innocent.”

She continued to throw statistics at me about how high the percentage rates of women who told the truth compared to those who did not.

I replied, “As long as there’s even 1% of men who were falsely accused, I’ll never blindly believe anyone. I have a husband and 3 sons and if anyone came to me and told me they were raped by one of them, I’d never just take their word for it. I’d listen to their claim and investigate it, but there’s no way in hell I’d automatically believe someone over my family, who all happen to be men.”

This wasn’t good enough for her. It had to be believe all women or nothing.

Here lies the problem with anyone who spouts off that all women must be believed no matter what; in this example let’s use Democrats saying it about Dr. Christine Blasey Ford (who for the record, I believed.)

If it doesn’t fit your political agenda now (ie. Tara Reade accusing Joe Biden), sorry folks, now you must believe her too – no matter what.

Holes in the story? Oh well. It happened.

Why didn’t she come forward sooner? Doesn’t matter. He’s guilty.

Reade was on Dr. Phil claiming she had a romantic affair with Vladimir Putin? Who cares, believe her! (This one was proven false but it’s funny and also adds to my point that you can’t believe everyone, all the time, without knowing the facts.)

If Reade is not telling the truth and someone put her up to this, I have to give that person a big round of applause because their diabolical plan is absolutely brilliant👏👏👏

They’re also going to hell if there is one, but they must get credit for being a brilliant mastermind of manipulation and deviousness. I’m sure they do quite well for themselves in this world.

Sorry if this blog entry was a little too political for your taste. I really just wanted to write it to prove to that woman on that Kobe Bryant post that:

(In my Nelson Muntz voice):

HAHA I WAS RIGHT!

One response to “Facebook wars.”
