I think everyone is broken-hearted right now, right? The world is just packed full with hate and indecision.

I find myself turning more and more to games on my phone instead of social media and news sites because I get knots in my stomach.

It’s as if the “cookies” are set to: “Keep her in a constant state of upset”.

Well as much as I despise Donald Trump, he is right about one thing – the media. It really is fake news.

I’ve begun to look at an ENTIRE speech, quote, debate, etc. before making a judgement – instead of just believing a screenshot here, or a cut-off-right-at-the-perfect-moment-as-to-convey-the-message-they-want-you-to-get-enraged-over, there.

It’s why I watch Trump live if I can.

Like his rally at Madison Square Garden before the election where he told so many lies and called Tim Walz “Tampon Tim.” It was enough for me to make an educated decision on the man, and yet he offers so much more in the “People Who Should Not Be Our President” category.

But he does make a good point about the media.

I watched the video of Charlie Kirk’s assassination and it hasn’t left my mind since. It was horrifying and I pray that his wife didn’t witness it firsthand.

I didn’t even really know who he was until it happened. I’d always get him mixed up with Ben Shapiro. But when I started seeing all the screenshots circulating of the disgusting things he said, I couldn’t believe anyone would love him as much as his base does.

So I decided to look at entire interviews/debates/quotes so I could make an informed decision. I encourage you to do the same.

I definitely don’t agree with everything he said, but I found that he was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and that is how he led his life. Many people don’t agree with that standpoint, but from everything I watched, he wasn’t the monster many are making him out to be.

My kids, who aren’t fans, told me about one of his debates to prove me wrong, saying he was the worst. I said, “Ok, show me.” It was 2+ hours long. They left, I watched the whole thing. Again, he said some things I didn’t agree with, but he was not a monster. He was actually very respectful to those he was debating.

I’m sure someone is reading this and they are not agreeing with me. You may even be angry with me because you know something about him that deeply offends you. Please, tell me about it. Not for a fight or a challenge, but because I want the full scope so I can form my educated opinion. Because I don’t trust the media in any capacity anymore.

Like I told PJ, who doesn’t agree with me on this one, “It’s not that I’ve suddenly turned into Charlie Kirk’s biggest fan. I’m making a big deal out of this because it pisses me off that the media has all of us trained like mice. They keep telling us things from perspectives that keeps both sides outraged.”

They want it that way so we stay tuned in and they stay rich. And because of this…

the broken-hearted will never agree, and there will never be an answer… just grief and anguish throughout the world.

    I am disgusted by the media as well. However, I disagree with you about Charlie Kirk. He was a profoundly gifted manipulator, much like Trump and he scared the crap out of me because of his huge impact on young people. His interpretation of Christianity was not in line with Christ and he cherry picked his way through the Bible. I did listen to many of his speeches, debates. etc. I stand by my opinion that he was a racist, a misogynist and a vile human being. He actually stated, “If I see a black pilot, I’m gonna be like boy, I hope he’s qualified.” And about black women, “Black women do not have brain processing power to be taken seriously. You have to go steal a white person’s slot” He was referencing affirmative action and taking the reason for it completely out of context. I knew about him long before his assassination and I had no doubt where he was headed… he would have ended up in the White House in the future and that would have been even more dangerous than what we are dealing with right now. If you haven’t heard of Dean Withers, look him up. He debated Kirk successfully and is more in line with my beliefs. He was deeply affected by Kirk’s assassination and has stepped away from social media for now. I hope he returns at some point because it’s people like him who can have a positive impact on the future of this faltering country.

    I am deeply offended by how the right has weaponized Kirk’s death and are making him into something he wasn’t. Don’t misunderstand me… his death was horrific and unjust. So was the assassination of the Democratic Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark. Hardly a word from the right, no moment of silence or prayer on the floor of Congress, nothing from the White House. Instead, they are using Kirk’s death to silence any opposing ideas, freedoms and change the course of this country. We are on a very dangerous path and it’s beyond frightening.

      I saw a debate that included the topics of DEI and affirmative action. In the one I watched, I didn’t think he was being racist, just maybe ill-informed about how DEI and affirmative action are supposed to work. But you make a good point, since he was obviously highly intelligent, he should know that the basis of his argument was flawed. Maybe he really was just a master manipulator. But one of the things I agreed with him on is that women want to be taken care of and a traditional family is a good thing. When I had only heard a snippet of that – which was taken out of context, I jumped to the conclusion that he was a misogynist. But then I watched him on a podcast and found that I agreed with him 100%. Two young men were debating him about women wanting to be taken care of. The 2 guys thought it was ok to split the bill on a date and Kirk vehemently argued against it saying that he’d rather wash dishes in the back than have his date pay. I told PJ, “if you asked me to split the check with you on our first date, you would never hear from me again.” Pj agreed with that part but not the part about a woman wanting to be taken care of. He said, “you don’t think women should be allowed to work?” I informed him that Erica Kirk has a successful clothing business. It’s not that he didn’t think women should work, he believed men should be stand-up enough that their wives can depend on them. You might think I’m wrong for agreeing with him, but I DO want a man I can depend on. I don’t want a guy who couldn’t take care of me in times of crisis. I want a man who is a dependable provider so that I don’t have to be scared if I ever lost my job or any other event in which he needed to be my strength.
