I watched The Deer Hunter for the first time last night. I have a new trick to watching movies in one night. When I start falling asleep, and PJ yells, “ARE YOU SLEEPING?!” over the pillow baracade I’ve built in order to keep his relentless foot-shaking out of my periphery, instead of perking up and lying that I’m not falling asleep and then do, in fact, fall asleep, I give in and say, “Yeahhh ☹️” Then he plays MLB baseball for about 2 hours. When I wake up, nice and refreshed from my nap, we continue the movie. It works like a charm.
Back to The Deer Hunter. Had I known that Christopher Walken was such a babe in this movie, I wouldn’t have waited so long to see it. One of my absolute favorites of all time, Robert DeNiro is in it too. Of course he was a babe too, but I always got my fill of him in several other movies like The Godfather 2. But Walken? Ooh Weeee 🥵
Anyway, this movie is majorly depressing. It probably wasn’t the best choice after spending my day worrying about our president destroying the country. Not the best choice when already worried that my children may eventually have to fight for his reckless self-serving motives.
The Gorge with Miles Teller is on my list but I’m afraid that movie is going to be about some sort of natural disaster that could have been prevented by the government not pretending that global warming is fake, and saying that massive, devastating wild fires could be prevented if people would just rake their leaves 🤯
Maybe I’ll just watch Stepbrothers again.
