Save the complaints for party conversation…

The world… is loaded… it’s lit to pop and nobody is gonna stop.

Those lyrics from Jane’s Addiction’s song Stop! have been resounding in my head since I drove to work last week when it came up in my shuffle.

It was then that I realized what Perry Farrell (Peri-pharel? I heard that’s why he calls himself that. Note to self: look up his real name) was talking about.

Everyone loves to complain. He wants to have a good time. He’s telling people to save it for the boring parties you’ll be going to.

He’s right. Think about the parties you’ve been to recently. Does anyone really talk about anything good? No, it’s the same old stuff. Blah blah blahhh. People make it look like they’re having fun on Insta but they’re not. Let’s be real.

I complain in my blog all the time. Call me a hypocrite. Guilty as charged.

I know we’re pretty far into 2023 but I’m going to make my New Year’s resolution now. It’s to stop complaining and try to have better conversations.

Let’s start again.

🎶 Save the complaints for party conversation, the world is loaded, it’s lit to pop and nobody is gonna stop. 🎶

I guess what Mr. Pheral is trying to say is that the Earth is just going to explode one day and we should live it up while we can?

I don’t know. What I DO know is that I’m sooo sick of the whining and complaining. This includes me, of course.

I’m going to try and Stop! and enjoy life while it’s here. I mean, Peri is obviously doing something right. What other glorious mind could have come up with the greatest festival of all time, Lollapalooza?

It was the one place where I saw my friends who liked rap music banging their heads to Metallica when they were strictly there for Wu-Tang. It was heartwarming. Seriously.

I could write a whole other blog about that concert but I’m hungry and want to eat dinner. Plus, come to think of it, I probably can’t write about much from that day anyway 🤭
