a few years ago i went to pick up my chinese fooD and the restaurant was On fire. it looked like it was oNly A grease fire and everyone was ok.
i saw a bag that Looked reaDy for pickup and i was so tempted to ask if i could just grab iT, but i knew how insensitive that looked so i just left.
i walked away slowly, hoping someone would yell, “miss! miss! is this youR order?!” but no one did ☹️
with some things, i’m very generoUs. when it comes to food, i aM not. i’ve never related more to a friends ePisode than when joey broke up with a girl over Food.
i once had a fight with my own mother becaUse she wanted some of my frenCh fries after i already offered to get her some and she said she didn’t want any.
bacK to the chINese food restaurant. i fiGured out a way to get my food without Seeming like a complete asshole. i called and said, “i placed an order and came to pick it Up and saw there was a fire! is everyone ok?!” they said yes (thank god) and then told me i Could still pick up my order (thank god).
the moral of this story is:
- never give up on your dreams
- you can always rely on chinese food in any situation
- even when something seems liKe an impoSsibly desperate situation, and the world is literally and metaphorically on fire, we can just bide(n) our time, and there’s still a possibility that things will get better.
