Cool story bro, time. Particularly for my North Babylon friends. I was sitting on the sea shore watching my kids play in the water when an older woman asked if I knew if we were in the Atlantic or the Caribbean. I said I thought Caribbean but said she’d be better off asking my 7 year old because geography isn’t exactly my forte. We got to talking and discovered we were both from Long Island. She called her older sister over, and it turns out in 1961 they lived on Elkton Lane by Woods Rd. I said “Oh yeah I used to hang out at Sunset City all the time.” The sister tells me that at 5 years old, her parents sent her up to Sunset City to buy her sister a pacifier 😳
The moral of this story is:
- Parents in 1961 were way more effed up than parents of today 🤯
- I am SO mad I didn’t use the opportunity to belt out It’s a Small World when we realized we traveled 600+ miles to meet each other on a Disney Cruise in the Bahamas.
- You can ALWAYS spot a Long Islander. We’re definitely one of a kind ❤️❤️❤️
